Another regional capital has decided to raise public transportation fares

Starting August 1, 2026, new fares for public transportation will be introduced in Vinnytsia. The Vinnytsia City Council’s Executive Committee adopted the corresponding decision after reviewing the economic calculations provided by the “Vinnytsia Transport Company.”

Under the new rules, the cost of a single trip on a tram, trolleybus, or municipal bus will be 25 hryvnias. At the same time, passengers who use public transportation regularly will be able to save significantly by using pass tickets—in this case, the average cost per trip will range from 11 to 17 hryvnias.

Holders of the personalized “Vinnytsia Resident Municipal Card” will continue to enjoy free transfers to another route within 30 minutes. The City Council is also maintaining free rides for eligible groups and offering discounts on pass purchases for schoolchildren and students.

A personalized pass for 130 trips will cost 1,500 hryvnias for adults, 750 hryvnias for students, and 450 hryvnias for schoolchildren. The 80-trip option will cost 1,200, 600, and 360 hryvnias, respectively, while the unlimited pass for adults has been set at 2,250 hryvnias. Purchasing a non-personalized card will cost more: 1,725 hryvnias for 130 trips, 1,380 hryvnias for 80 trips, and 2,600 hryvnias for a monthly unlimited pass.

According to the city council, the price adjustment is a necessary measure intended to offset rising costs for fuel, electricity, and spare parts to ensure the stable operation of public transportation.

As a reminder, new fares for municipal public transportation took effect in Kyiv on July 15. The cost of a single trip on the metro, buses, trolleybuses, trams, and the funicular will increase from 8 to 30 hryvnias. This is the first fare increase in the capital in the last six years.
