Court Confiscates Apartment of Former Head of Poltava Region Tax Office

The High Anti-Corruption Court partially granted the claim filed by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office seeking to declare assets totaling more than 4.5 million hryvnias to be of unjustified origin, linked to Alla Ryabkova, the former acting head of the Main Directorate of the State Tax Service in Poltava Oblast, and her relatives.

The court ruled that an apartment in Kyiv worth over 2.2 million hryvnias was an unjustified asset and ordered it to be forfeited to the state. The judges agreed with the prosecutor’s arguments regarding the official’s actual connection to this property, which was formally registered in the name of her biological sister, and also noted that her relatives lacked the legal income necessary to make such a purchase.

At the same time, the High Anti-Corruption Court refused to confiscate two vehicles—a Land Rover Range Rover Velar and a Toyota C-HR Hybrid—purchased by the defendant’s father and daughter; prosecutors are therefore preparing an appeal. Earlier, in late 2023, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR), following an investigation into the official’s lifestyle, identified signs that her family had acquired assets of dubious origin with a total value of 6.1 million hryvnias, which also included an apartment in Poltava purchased by her husband.

This was reported by the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.

The High Anti-Corruption Court confiscated 8.5 million UAH worth of property from the former head of the Chernihiv Regional Tax Service.

The former deputy head of the Ternopil Regional State Administration had his property confiscated and was sentenced to 8 years in prison.
