Switzerland provides the State Emergency Service of Ukraine with generators and heating equipment

The Government of Switzerland has delivered energy assistance to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, which included diesel generators and mobile heating equipment.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service.

The agency noted that the new equipment will help rescuers respond more effectively to emergencies and maintain the functioning of cities in the event of power supply disruptions.

Deputy Head of the State Emergency Service for Digital Development, Roman Prymush, emphasized that organizing such large-scale support required significant effort.

“Thank you for your rapid response. Winter has ended, but the electricity problem remains acute. Even with rising temperatures, we continue to use a large number of generators in Odesa, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, and other regions. It is important for us to be prepared for new challenges, so this energy support is critically necessary,” Prymush said.

Director of the International Cooperation Program at the Swiss Embassy in Ukraine, Jean-Luc Bernasconi, stressed that the assistance is a response to Russia’s massive attacks on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.

“In the face of the immense suffering endured by Ukraine’s civilian population, Switzerland did not remain indifferent. The delivery of diesel generators is a continuation of our long-term partnership with the State Emergency Service,” he said.

According to him, additional generators are also being provided to the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development, which will be able to distribute them on a priority basis, particularly for affected communities in Odesa region.

Switzerland is providing Ukraine with energy assistance worth 35 million euros. The package includes generators and electrical modules to support heating systems in large cities that have been especially affected by crisis-related power outages.
