Ukraine’s Defense Forces open over 2,000 IT vacancies for specialists
Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has launched the development of an expanded IT vertical within the structure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As part of the initiative, a new role — digitalization specialist — will be introduced in military units, operational groupings, and command structures. In total, more than 2,000 vacancies have been opened for IT professionals.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
These specialists will be responsible for implementing modern technologies and digital solutions directly within military units.
According to the ministry, the mission is to ensure the effectiveness of digital products for the military, as well as their rapid deployment and scaling across key areas.
Currently, more than 2,000 positions are open across various units and command bodies. Applications can be submitted via the official website.
It is reported that each unit will have its own IT specialist who will:
- understand the unit’s real needs;
- coordinate the implementation of solutions;
- provide feedback to developers;
- initiate new changes.
Both active service members and civilian IT specialists can apply. For civilians, joining the military is possible through mobilization or by signing a contract.
“In modern organizations, IT is a core part of the team. Now such roles will systematically appear in the Ukrainian military. This will provide a deep understanding of service members’ needs and allow digital services to be developed not ‘top-down,’ but through continuous, real-time feedback at all levels,” said Deputy Minister of Defense for Digital Development, Digital Transformation, and Digitalization, Oksana Ferchuk.
