Forecasters predict warmer weather in Kyiv through June 20

From June 16 to 20, 2026, precipitation is expected to gradually subside in the capital and the Kyiv region, with temperatures rising both at night and during the day.

Forecasters predict the most noticeable warming toward the end of the workweek.

Today, the region will still see variable cloudiness, with brief showers and possible thunderstorms in some areas.

The westerly wind will blow at 7–12 m/s. Temperatures in the Kyiv region will rise to 17–22°C, while in the capital itself, temperatures are expected to reach around 19–21°C.

The change in weather conditions is due to the movement of air masses over Ukraine.

“Since moist, cool air will be flowing in from the west and northwest, convective clouds will form after the daytime warming, causing short-lived summer showers in some areas, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, while at night the atmosphere will calm down, so we do not expect rain,” note experts from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.

Nighttime air temperatures will rise gradually: across the region, readings will increase from 8–13° at the start of the week to 13–18° as of June 20. Daytime warming will be more significant—from an initial 17–22° to summery 23–28° on Saturday.

In Kyiv itself, nighttime temperatures will rise from 12° to 16°, and daytime temperatures will reach 20° to 25° Celsius.

This was reported today, June 16, by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.

A powerful atmospheric front on Friday, June 12, will bring contrasting and, in some places, dangerous weather to Ukraine, with significant precipitation and a sharp drop in temperatures in certain regions.

On June 2, temperatures in Ukraine are expected to reach up to 23°C with mostly dry weather
