The Cabinet of Ministers has expanded compensation payments to victims at critical infrastructure sites
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has expanded the list of individuals eligible to receive a one-time cash benefit in the event of injury or death while working at critical infrastructure facilities, and has updated the procedure for providing such benefits.
“Critical infrastructure workers perform their duties under conditions of heightened risk. The mechanism for state support for people who have suffered as a result of Russian aggression while working at such facilities must be clear and understandable. Therefore, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a decision that eliminates gaps in the payment of one-time financial assistance for this category of citizens,” the statement reads.
From now on, it is stipulated that in the event of a change in the disability group after the initial determination, the affected person will receive an additional payment on top of the amount due.
The state will also compensate for the difference in payments if the person or their family previously received a smaller amount under a different assistance mechanism.
Amounts of one-time assistance
Up to 1 million UAH — in the event of a person’s
death Up to 800,000 UAH — for individuals with Group
I disability 500,000 UAH — for Group II disability
200,000 UAH — for Group III disability
The following are eligible for assistance:
employees of critical infrastructure facilities,
individuals who suffered as a result of Russian military aggression while performing their duties,
civil servants, and local government officials who were at such facilities at the time of the incident.
The right to receive payments remains in effect throughout the entire period of martial law, as well as for three years following its conclusion or revocation.
The government also previously approved funding for programs to support workers who responded to the aftermath of missile and drone attacks on critical infrastructure facilities. The total funding amounts to 263.46 million UAH, part of which is allocated to the Ministry of Energy, and part to the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.
This was announced by Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity Denys Ulyutin on Facebook.
As a reminder, no general pension recalculation is planned in Ukraine for June 2026. At the same time, certain categories of pensioners will receive increased payments and additional allowances.
Earlier, Ukraine launched a new component of the “eRecovery” program for displaced persons from temporarily occupied territories, and over 300 housing vouchers have already been funded. Authorities state that this is just the beginning of a mechanism designed to help thousands of families obtain housing or compensation.
