Russian strikes have caused new power outages in four regions — Ukrenergo
As a result of the latest terrorist attacks by Russian occupiers on critical infrastructure, new power outages were reported as of the morning of June 16, 2026.
Emergency power outages affected consumers in the Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
Energy workers responded promptly to the damage to the grids and began repairing the damage caused by the enemy strikes.
“As a result of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure facilities, as of this morning, consumers in the Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions are without power. Where safety conditions currently permit, emergency repair work is already underway,” the power system operator stated in a report.
In addition to the hostilities, the condition of the power grids was affected by severe weather—heavy rain and strong winds have left three settlements in the Sumy region without power, where repair crews from the regional power company are already restoring the damaged lines.
At the same time, the country’s overall electricity consumption as of 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday was 3.3% lower than the previous day’s figures.
This was officially reported by the national energy company Ukrenergo on its Facebook page.
