The U.S. Will Not Divert Weapons Intended for Ukraine to the Middle East — Sibiga

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga stated that the United States does not plan to redirect weapons purchased for Ukraine to other regions.

He made this announcement in an interview with Ukrinform.

According to Sibiga, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio provided such assurances during a meeting of G7 foreign ministers in France.

This specifically refers to weapons purchased under the PURL program—they will remain designated exclusively for Ukraine.

The minister emphasized that as of now, the U.S. has no plans to redirect this aid.

Ukraine also received confirmation that another country has joined the PURL program.

Sibiga added that this program remains a key tool for strengthening Ukraine’s air defense.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Washington does not rule out the possibility of redirecting weapons intended for Ukraine to operations in the Middle East.
