The US invited the Ukrainian delegation to continue negotiations
The Ukrainian negotiating team was invited to visit the US after US Special Representative Steve Witkoff met with Russian dictator Putin.
This was announced by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga, according to UNIAN.
According to Sibiga, representatives of the American delegation said that, in their opinion, ‘the talks in Moscow had a positive impact on the peace process’ and therefore ‘invited the Ukrainian delegation to continue our talks in America in the near future.’
The head of the Ukrainian delegation, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council Rustem Umerov, has already called Witkoff after his meeting with Putin, although for security reasons, the details of the meeting in Moscow were not discussed. At the same time, Umerov continues to consult on peace talks with officials from France, Britain and Germany, coordinating positions and assessing progress.
We will remind you that at a meeting in the Kremlin between Putin and US President's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, the details of a peace plan for Ukraine were discussed, but the talks did not produce any results.
The planned talks between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the American delegation led by US President's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in Brussels did not take place.
