The court partially closed the hearing on the pretrial detention of Yermak

The High Anti-Corruption Court is holding part of the hearing on the selection of a preventive measure for Andriy Yermak, the former head of the Office of the President, behind closed doors.

This was announced by Investigating Judge Viktor Nogachevsky.

According to him, this decision was made due to the presence of confidential information in the case file.

Earlier, the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, Oleksandr Klymenko, stated that the prosecution would seek Yermak’s arrest with an alternative bail of 180 million hryvnias.

Yermak is a suspect in a case involving the alleged laundering of over 460 million hryvnias, which, according to the investigation, were used to build a luxury cottage community in the Kyiv region.

The prosecutor has now begun his presentation in the courtroom, outlining the prosecution’s position regarding the risks of the suspect absconding and influencing witnesses. Investigators are insisting on detention with a probable bail of 180 million hryvnias, given the scale of financial transactions in the “Dynasty” cottage community. The judge is continuing to review procedural matters and is setting a schedule for further hearings.

Former Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak links the charges brought against him to “public pressure on law enforcement agencies” to secure specific procedural decisions regarding him.
