The court extended Kolomoyskyi's detention in the contract killing case:
On March 25, 2026, the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv ruled to extend the preventive measure of detention for businessman Ihor Kolomoyskyi until May 22.
According to Ukrinform, Presiding Judge Maria Pylaeva confirmed that the former owner of PrivatBank will remain in custody as part of the investigation into the alleged contract killing of a law firm director. The events that formed the basis for the suspicion took place in Feodosia and concerned the lawyer’s refusal to annul a decision of the general meeting of shareholders.
The Office of the Prosecutor General announced charges against the businessman in connection with this incident in May 2024. In addition to the attempted murder case, Kolomoisky is a subject of investigations by the SBU and the BEB regarding fraud and the legalization of assets obtained through criminal means. He is also charged with two counts of withdrawing funds totaling 15 billion hryvnias from PrivatBank. Evidence is currently being gathered and procedural actions are underway in all criminal proceedings related to the businessman’s activities and attempts to destabilize the financial system by Russian interests.
As a reminder, Kolomoisky was previously remanded in custody until May 1.
