The court denied the third motion for recusal filed by Zinchenko's defense attorney in the Farion murder trial

During the latest hearing in the case of the murder of renowned linguist Iryna Farion, Larisa Kryvoruchko, the defense attorney for the accused, Vyacheslav Zinchenko, filed a motion to recuse the judges for the third time.

The defense attorney sought to remove the current panel of judges from hearing this high-profile criminal case

However, the court rejected the defense’s motion and announced an official recess in the proceedings.

This time, the grounds for the recusal motion were Larisa Kryvoruchko’s claims that the court allegedly failed to properly verify the credentials of the defendant’s previous attorneys.

According to her, the previous defense attorneys represented Vyacheslav Zinchenko while their licenses to practice law were suspended.

Kryvoruchko emphasized that due to these actions, her client was effectively deprived of his legal right to quality and professional legal representation.

In contrast, Natalia Romanik, the attorney for Iryna Farion’s family, categorically rejected her colleague’s arguments and opposed granting this motion.

She emphasized that the validity of the documents is the sole personal responsibility of those lawyers who carried out their professional activities in violation of the law.

Natalia Romanik also added that current legislation does not require the court to verify the authority of the parties’ representatives during every individual hearing.

After hearing the positions of both sides in the trial, the judges, following standard procedure, retired to the deliberation room to reach a final decision.

While the judges were in the deliberation room, a serious conflict erupted in the courtroom—an emotional exchange broke out between the lawyer for the Faryon family and Zinchenko’s defense attorney.

Ultimately, upon returning to the courtroom, the court officially denied the recusal motion due to the lack of legal grounds.

This was reported by a Censor.NET correspondent.
