A sentence has been handed down to a man who raped his 14-year-old stepdaughter, who became pregnant as a result
In the Vinnytsia region, the Khmilnytskyi District Court handed down a sentence to a 45-year-old man, finding him guilty of raping his underage stepdaughter (Part 3 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The offender was sentenced to 9 years of imprisonment and barred from holding positions or engaging in activities involving children for a period of 3 years.
Juvenile prosecutors proved that between January and February 2026, the defendant raped the 14-year-old girl four times. The man subjected her to constant psychological pressure, which is why the victim was afraid to speak out about the incidents for a long time. In March, the girl realized she was pregnant and confided in her mother, after which the family contacted law enforcement.
After his arrest, the perpetrator was taken into custody, and the case was referred to court in June. With the victim’s voluntary consent, she underwent a procedure to terminate the pregnancy. Despite the defendant’s full admission of guilt and remorse, the prosecution insisted on a severe punishment due to the gravity of the crime and the profound psychological and physical trauma inflicted on the child.
