Court Increases Bail in Case Involving Embezzlement of Energoatom Funds

The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court increased the bail amount from 30 million to 90 million hryvnias for a suspect accused of organizing a scheme to embezzle nearly 170 million hryvnias during the construction of the Tashlyk Pumped-Storage Power Plant in Mykola.

According to the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect is the actual owner of a number of companies and is suspected of involvement in the embezzlement of funds from the state-owned enterprise “NAEK “Energoatom.”

In addition to increasing the bail, the court ordered the suspect not to leave the Voznesensk district of Mykolaiv Oblast without the permission of an investigator, prosecutor, or court.

The rest of the first-instance court’s decision remained unchanged. The ruling has entered into legal force and is not subject to cassation appeal.
