Ukrainian companies must increase their electricity supply through their own generation by the next heating season.
This was stated by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
According to her, the government has begun preparing the power grid and housing and utilities sector for winter as part of the resilience plan, particularly in the Odesa region.
Svyrydenko noted that the goal is to reach 4 GW of distributed generation across the country by the start of the next heating season. The private sector is expected to play a key role in this process.
The government is also introducing financial incentives for businesses. Specifically, 0% interest loans are available for energy equipment up to 10 million UAH for a term of up to three years—150 loans totaling 227 million UAH have already been issued. In addition, 5-7-9% interest loan programs are available for the installation of generation and energy storage systems up to 250 million UAH for a term of up to 10 years.
The Ministry of Economy is preparing additional financing instruments in the energy sector.
During her trip to the Odesa region, the Prime Minister also visited the pharmaceutical company “Interchem,” which utilizes state support programs and invests in its own energy independence.
Svyrydenko emphasized that businesses should more actively develop their own energy capacities to ensure stable operations amid potential energy challenges this winter.
