Water pressure in Chernivtsi will be reduced starting September 22 due to low water levels
Starting September 22, water will be supplied at reduced pressure in Chernivtsi, which may cause water service interruptions on the upper floors of high-rise buildings.
The restrictions were introduced due to a hydrological drought and low water levels in rivers. The State Agency for Water Resources of Ukraine has reduced the permitted water withdrawal limit for the municipal enterprise “Chernivtsivodokanal” by 22% through September 30.
In light of this, residents and local businesses are urged to conserve water, use it only for essential needs, check their plumbing for leaks, and, if possible, postpone large-scale projects that require significant water consumption until the end of the month.

The State Agency for Water Resources of Ukraine has imposed temporary restrictions on water users due to low water levels in certain rivers across the country. The new rules took effect on September 18 and will remain in place until the end of the month.
In Zakarpattia, officials have begun developing a plan to address the water shortage, which is becoming increasingly severe in the region. One of the proposed options is to store water during periods when rivers are full, so it can be used during droughts.
