A grenade exploded in an apartment in Chernivtsi; one person was killed
In Chernivtsi, an unidentified object exploded in an apartment in a high-rise building on Budivelnykiv Street. The 38-year-old resident of the apartment was killed in the explosion.
The police received a report of the explosion. Law enforcement officers and representatives of relevant agencies arrived at the scene.
During the initial investigation, police preliminarily determined that a grenade had exploded. The 38-year-old man sustained fatal injuries. No one else was injured.
No fire broke out after the explosion, but the apartment sustained partial damage.
For safety reasons, law enforcement officers evacuated the residents of the high-rise building.
Police and other emergency services are currently working at the scene. Law enforcement officials are investigating the circumstances of the explosion and determining the origin of the grenade.
