On May 9, the continued spread of a large-scale forest fire was recorded in the Chernobyl Radiation-Ecological Biosphere Reserve. The situation remains most critical, particularly on the left bank of the Pripyat River.

A large-scale forest fire is ongoing in the Chernobyl zone, having already engulfed approximately 1,200 hectares. Rescue workers are working around the clock to stop the spread of the fire, which is being fueled by heat and strong winds. The situation is described as under control, but there is still much work to be done.
