A former city council official in Dnipro is set to stand trial for causing nearly 3 million hryvnias in damages
In Dnipro, an indictment has been filed against the former deputy director of one of the city council’s departments, who is suspected of official negligence that resulted in significant financial losses to the budget. The National Police reported this on May 18.
According to the investigation, in 2022–2023, during power outages caused by attacks on the power grid, she entered into contracts for the supply of electricity at inflated rates. As a result, the local budget suffered losses amounting to approximately 2.8 million UAH. She faces up to 5 years in prison.

Currently, Dnipro police have submitted an indictment with the materials of the criminal proceedings to the court under Part 2 of Article 367 (Official Negligence Resulting in Serious Consequences) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The penalty under this article provides for up to 5 years of imprisonment, with a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for up to three years, and a fine of up to 750 non-taxable minimum incomes.
