The State Border Guard Service commented on rumors of Russian saboteurs entering the Chernihiv region
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has denied reports circulating on social media alleging a sharp increase in the activities of Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups in the Chernihiv region.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a comment by SBGS spokesperson Andriy Demchenko.
Earlier, reports appeared on some Telegram channels that enemy saboteurs from the Russian FSB had begun carrying out regular attacks on Ukrainian observation posts in an attempt to destabilize the situation along this section of the border.
An official representative of the agency assured that no excessive activity by enemy forces has been recorded in the defense zones of the border guard units at this time. However, Demchenko emphasized that the potential threat of saboteurs breaching the state border remains high, so the Ukrainian military remains on full combat alert.
At the same time, military leadership and senior state officials are closely monitoring the situation on the northern borders, particularly due to the Russian Federation’s intentions to draw the Belarusian regime more deeply into hostilities. According to available data, the Kremlin is considering several options for conducting military operations involving Belarusian territory, which is why fortifying the borders and defensive positions in the Chernihiv region remains a priority.
As a reminder, the enemy is deploying small assault groups in the border area instead of sabotage and reconnaissance groups.
The State Border Guard Service also reported a decrease in the activity of enemy DRGs.
Russian occupation forces continue to actively send sabotage and reconnaissance groups into Ukrainian territory, attempting to find gaps in defensive positions. The main activity of enemy units is currently concentrated on sections of the state border within the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
