The Cabinet of Ministers provided clarification regarding Prime Minister Svyrydenko’s teaching activities and the issue of fees

The Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers commented on Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko’s combination of her primary duties with teaching activities, as well as the issue of her potential honoraria.

In response to the inquiry, it was noted that the law allows members of the government to engage in teaching, research, and creative activities outside of working hours.

This right is provided for in Article 7 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.”

The Cabinet of Ministers also emphasized that Svyrydenko’s teaching activities at the private institution “Kyiv School of Economics” are carried out in accordance with anti-corruption legislation. Specifically, Article 25 of the Law “On Preventing Corruption” permits the combination of public service with teaching and research work.

Regarding the organization of the educational process, the class schedule, as well as the procedure for calculating and the amount of fees, the Government Secretariat noted that these issues are regulated by the educational institution’s own internal documents.

Thus, the details regarding the Prime Minister’s compensation and teaching conditions are determined directly by the university where she works.

As a reminder, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko greeted Ukrainians on Easter wearing a shirt from a well-known brand. Meanwhile, Marianna Budanova, the wife of the head of the President’s Office, Kirill Budanov, attended an Easter service at the cathedral, wearing a scarf with a floral pattern and images of snakes, which, according to media reports, resembles a product from a well-known brand.
