In Kharkiv, a woman accused of carrying out a terrorist attack ordered by Russia — an attack that killed two Ukrainian servicemen — will face trial.

This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office on Telegram.

According to the investigation, in May 2025, a Kharkiv resident began communicating via Telegram with representatives of the Russian Federation, who offered her $1,000 to kill Ukrainian soldiers. Following video instructions from her handlers, she manufactured a remote-controlled explosive device at home.

Later, prosecutors said, representatives of the Russian Federation made contact with Ukrainian soldiers, pretending to offer assistance and arranging to deliver a scooter to them via a transport service.

“In June, the woman went to a park in the Industrialnyi district to conduct reconnaissance. She checked the scooter’s storage compartment, took the keys, and left. In the afternoon, she returned, opened the scooter’s compartment and placed a black backpack containing the explosive device inside. When the soldiers arrived and approached the scooter to load it into their vehicle, the enemy remotely detonated the IED. One soldier died on the spot, and the other died in the hospital from his injuries,” the prosecutor’s office reported.

Later that day, law enforcement officers detained the woman at her residence in Kharkiv. The court has ordered her to remain in custody without the possibility of bail.

She is charged with committing, as part of a group, a terrorist act that resulted in loss of life (Part 3, Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine); illegal possession of explosives and explosive devices (Part 1, Article 263); and illegal manufacture of explosives and explosive devices, committed as part of a group (Part 2, Article 263-1).

The case will be heard by the Industrialnyi District Court of Kharkiv. The maximum punishment she faces is life imprisonment.
