A fatal traffic accident involving a minibus and a passenger car occurred in the Ivano-Frankivsk region—one person was killed and 14 others were injured.
This was reported by the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Police.
The accident occurred on April 17 in the village of Tyapche, Dolyna community. According to preliminary data, the 59-year-old driver of a Mazda CX-7 was exiting a secondary road and failed to yield to a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibus operating the “Ivano-Frankivsk–Lviv” route.
The 64-year-old minibus driver died as a result of the collision. Among the injured were 14 passengers, including two 8-year-old children. All of the injured were hospitalized; four remain in the hospital.
The car driver was sober; he was detained and charged under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
A pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officials are establishing all the circumstances of the accident.
In the Chernihiv region, eight people were injured in a traffic accident.
Also, in Rivne region, road workers were charged in connection with a traffic accident that left three people dead.
