In Kherson, resilience centers will operate around the clock
In Kherson, Russian strikes on the energy infrastructure have left part of the city without power. During the power outage, resilience centers have been switched to round-the-clock operation.
The decision was made during a meeting of the rapid response headquarters. Military personnel, rescue workers, police, medical personnel, utility services, and civil defense representatives were mobilized for the effort.
According to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, the necessary equipment, generators, and fuel and lubricants are available.
Special attention was given to ensuring communications. Alternative power sources were provided for base stations so that emergency services, medical personnel, rescue workers, and the police could operate without interruption.
The power outage has also caused disruptions in the water supply. In some areas, water pressure in the system has dropped, and water is being supplied on a scheduled basis. Drinking water distribution points are operational.
Authorities are urging Kherson residents to be prepared for a prolonged power outage, as repair work is being hampered by the threat of new Russian attacks.
