In Khmelnytskyi, a BMW driver was charged following a fatal traffic accident
In Khmelnytskyi, law enforcement officials have charged the driver of a BMW X4 with causing a fatal traffic accident after driving onto the sidewalk. Two people were killed in the accident, and two other minors who were passengers in the car were injured.
This was reported by the Khmelnytskyi Regional Police.
As a reminder, the traffic accident occurred on the evening of May 16 on Stepan Bandera Street.
The 20-year-old driver of the BMW X4 drove into oncoming traffic, then onto the sidewalk, where he struck two pedestrians and collided with a utility pole. In addition to the two fatalities, two underage passengers in the car were injured. One of them was hospitalized with a fracture, while the other received medical attention at the scene without being hospitalized.
Police officers detained the driver in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and charged him with a criminal offense under Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of traffic safety rules or transport operation rules by a person driving a vehicle, resulting in the death of several persons). The investigation is ongoing.

A traffic accident occurred at one of the checkpoints in the Odesa district. A State Border Guard Service officer was killed in the accident.
