The driver of the Lada failed to maintain a safe distance and, at high speed, crashed into a Tesla electric car traveling ahead in the same lane.

Due to the powerful impact, the electric car driver instantly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a Volkswagen traveling ahead of her.

The passenger in the Lada, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, suffered the most severe injuries as a result of the three-car collision. The woman sustained extremely serious injuries due to damage to the interior and a shattered windshield.

A sharp piece of glass cut the victim’s jugular vein in the neck, causing severe bleeding. Emergency medical personnel transported the Kyiv resident to the nearest hospital.

This level is nearly twelve times the legal limit for blood alcohol content for drivers.

Investigators detained the offender directly at the scene of the incident in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, the man was officially notified of his status as a suspect under Part 2 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

This article provides for liability for violating traffic safety rules while intoxicated, resulting in serious injuries.
