A Moldovan crime boss known as "The Jackal" was shot dead at a restaurant in Kyiv
Yesterday, a deadly shooting took place at a restaurant in the capital, claiming the life of a 29-year-old Moldovan citizen.
The deceased was well known to law enforcement and members of the criminal underworld by the nickname “Jackal,” and the cause of his death was a long-standing conflict with his opponents.
The armed confrontation unfolded right inside the establishment in full view of witnesses.
According to preliminary information, the dispute between members of the criminal underworld quickly escalated into an active phase when the parties used firearms.
For the slain crime boss, this was far from his first involvement in armed clashes on the territory of the Ukrainian capital.
A similar incident involving him had already been recorded in 2021, though at that time “Shakal” managed to survive another shootout in Kyiv.
In his home country, the deceased had a long criminal history and a reputation as an extremely dangerous criminal.
He had previously been convicted of committing a series of particularly serious crimes, including torture, brazen kidnappings, and extortion of large sums of money.
