There are plans to build a new airport near Radehiv in the Lviv region

The Lviv Regional State Administration is considering the possibility of building a new airport near the town of Radekhiv in the Sheptytskyi District. The initiative was discussed at a meeting of the Lviv Regional Council’s Standing Committee on Local Self-Government Development.

The area proposed for the project is located between Radekhiv and the villages of Vuzlove and Pavliv, along the Lviv–Lutsk highway. The site is situated next to a sugar factory in the village of Pavliv, which is connected to a railroad track. During the Soviet era, an agricultural aviation runway operated on this territory.

The distance from the proposed construction site in the village of Pavliv to Lviv is 62 kilometers, and to the regional capital of Volyn—89 kilometers.

We previously reported that the Danylo Halytskyi Lviv International Airport could serve as a humanitarian corridor. However, the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated that opening the airport in Lviv could make it another target for the enemy, so additional Patriot air defense systems are needed for such steps.

Meanwhile, Air Ocean Airlines is ready to resume flights from Uzhhorod Airport if authorized by the authorities.
