In Lviv, a court imposed a pretrial restraint measure on a suspect accused of assaulting police officers during a clash with the TCC
A court in Lviv has imposed a pretrial measure on 23-year-old Oleg Gavrilov, who is suspected of assaulting law enforcement officers during a conflict with representatives of the regional recruitment center. He is charged with assaulting police officers during a nighttime incident.
The court hearing regarding the incident, which took place in Sykhiv on the night of July 9, was held in Lviv. Twenty-three-year-old Oleg Gavrilov appeared in the dock.
In addition to being suspected of assaulting police officers, it emerged that the young man has been absent without leave from his military unit since February 2026. He holds the rank of private. Prosecutors requested that he be remanded in custody for 60 days without the right to bail.
The defense insisted on house arrest with an electronic ankle monitor. As an alternative, the attorneys proposed pretrial detention with bail set at 30 times the minimum subsistence level.
The court ordered a pretrial detention of up to 60 days without the possibility of bail. In the courtroom, Gavrilov stated that he regretted his actions.
“I did not have any weapons or other objects on me. I fought only with my hands,” he insisted, according to SUSPILNE.
Earlier in Lviv, the first participants in the attack on the TCC military personnel were detained.
Law enforcement officials continue to identify all participants in the clashes. If their involvement in the attack is proven, they will be held accountable in accordance with current legislation. This was reported by Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the attack on military personnel at the Territorial Recruitment Center in Lviv. The head of state stated that such treatment of people in military uniform is unacceptable, and that all circumstances of the incident must be thoroughly investigated.
