Zelenskyy announced plans to strengthen diplomatic ties with neighboring countries

Ukraine plans to work more actively with neighboring countries to help them better understand Ukraine’s national interests. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement in his evening address. He also emphasized that partners must implement agreements on supporting Ukraine more quickly.

The president noted that one of the priorities in the near future will be more active engagement with neighboring countries. According to him, Ukraine must not only maintain dialogue with its partners but also clearly convey its position and defend its national interests. “As for relations with our neighbors in the region, we will take steps to strengthen our diplomacy. Ukraine must be heard, and our national interests must be understood,” Zelenskyy said.

At the same time, the head of state emphasized that the Ukrainian diplomatic team must work even more actively. He noted that it is crucial today to implement as quickly as possible all the agreements Ukraine has reached with its international partners. The president noted that Russia continues its massive shelling of Ukrainian cities and communities on a daily basis. He listed Kharkiv, Sumy, Konotop, Kherson, Kyiv and the Kyiv region, Nikopol, Kryvyi Rih, Odesa, Chornomorsk, and settlements in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions that are regularly subjected to Russian attacks.

According to Zelenskyy, it is precisely because of these constant shellings that Ukraine needs not only political support from its partners but also swift, practical solutions. “Every day, every single day, Russian strikes continue. Kharkiv, Sumy, Konotop, Kherson, Kyiv, the Kyiv region, Nikopol, other cities in our Dnipro region—Kryvyi Rih, Odesa, Chornomorsk, cities in the Donetsk region, and our Zaporizhzhia. Every day, tangible steps are needed to assist Ukraine’s partners,” the president emphasized.

Zelenskyy stressed that all decisions Ukraine has already agreed upon with its allies at the level of heads of state must be implemented without delay. “Everything we agreed upon at the leadership level must be carried out quickly. Preferably—very quickly. We need these results every day,” the head of state said.

The President did not specify exactly what steps are planned to strengthen diplomatic efforts with neighboring countries. At the same time, he made it clear that Ukraine will continue to rely on active dialogue with its partners and the swift implementation of international agreements concerning security, defense, and support for the state during the war. Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the future intensification of diplomatic efforts in an evening address published on Telegram.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, who arrived in Kyiv on a working visit. During the talks, the parties discussed increasing sanctions pressure on Russia, Ukraine’s need for air defense systems, and further military cooperation with the United States.
