A man was killed and a woman was injured in Mykolaiv when a grenade exploded in an apartment

In Mykolaiv, a grenade exploded in an apartment of a high-rise building, killing a 45-year-old man at the scene. His 38-year-old partner was injured, while her 11-year-old child, who was also in the apartment, was reportedly unharmed. 

The Mykolaiv Regional Police reported on the tragic incident and the emergency services’ response at the scene.

The police are currently establishing all the circumstances of the incident and the origin of the munition. The issue of the legal classification of the incident and the entry of information into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations is being resolved. The injured woman is receiving necessary medical care, and specialists are working with the child. An investigative team and bomb disposal experts continue to work in the apartment.

Earlier, in the city of Storozhynets, Chernivtsi region, a man was detained who threw a combat grenade at police officers.

In Zhytomyr, a grenade exploded in one of the high-rise buildings. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties.
