The NABU responded to Kravchenko regarding the allegations against Kryvonos
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office have denied statements by Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko regarding alleged suspicions against NABU Director Semen Kryvonos and proposals to grant him immunity.
The Bureau emphasized that no formal notice of suspicion has been served on Semen Kryvonos.
“As of now, no formal notice of suspicion has been served to NABU Director Semen Kryvonos,” reads a joint statement by NABU and the SAPO.
The agencies also refuted Kravchenko’s claims regarding NABU’s alleged seizure of certain criminal cases.
“Likewise, NABU has not taken over any criminal cases mentioned in the Prosecutor General’s statements. All claims regarding NABU’s alleged takeover of such cases are untrue,” the anti-corruption agencies stated.
Thus, NABU and the SAP consider the information about the seizure of cases to be untrue.
Separately, the anti-corruption agencies refuted Kravchenko’s claim that they were allegedly offered guarantees of immunity in exchange for refusing to issue notices of suspicion.
“NABU and SAPO have never offered or demanded any ‘immunity’ for anyone—neither for their own employees nor for other individuals,” the agencies emphasized.
NABU and the SAP described the Prosecutor General’s statements as a continuation of a systematic attack on independent anti-corruption agencies.
According to their assessment, the active phase of this attack began last summer when, as the agencies claim, an attempt was made to subordinate NABU and SAP to the Office of the Prosecutor General.
“NABU and the SAPO do not participate in political struggles. We operate strictly within the law and are ready to defend the independence of the anti-corruption system,” the agencies stated.
At the same time, NABU and SAPO noted that the statements made by Ruslan Kravchenko, who recently resigned, are currently of a public nature rather than procedural.
In other words, the claims he has made have not been formalized as relevant procedural decisions or documents within the framework of criminal proceedings.

NABU Director Semen Kryvonos does not believe there is a conflict between the Bureau and the SBU, though on August 10 he reported illegal actions targeting NABU employees. According to him, detectives are being systematically monitored, and law enforcement officials are attempting to learn about the progress of investigations and planned investigative actions.
In Kryvonos’s case, the commission included international representatives: Karen Greenaway, Povilas Malakauskas, and Drago Kos, who is also a relative of European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.
The conditions for a new attack on NABU and the SAPO remain in place, says Kryvonos.
NABU has published new audio recordings as part of the “Midas” investigation, which reveal a large-scale kickback scheme in the energy sector.
As a reminder, Galushchenko was ordered to post bail of 200 million hryvnias.
NABU Director Semen Kryvonos stated that pressure is being exerted on the judges hearing the case of NABU detective Ruslan Magamedrasulov.
