The Rada will vote on the dismissal of Prosecutor General Kravchenko on September 15
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will consider the resignation of Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko on Tuesday, September 15.
“The vote on Prosecutor General Kravchenko’s resignation will take place tomorrow, September 15,” he said.
Ruslan Kravchenko submitted his resignation from the post of Prosecutor General, after which parliament is set to consider his dismissal.
The day before, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on members of parliament to immediately support Kravchenko’s resignation.
The issue of the Prosecutor General’s dismissal arose amid criminal proceedings related to the activities of certain officials in the Prosecutor General’s Office.
On September 4, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) announced the dismantling of a criminal organization as part of Operation “Carthage.” According to investigators, the group allegedly systematically received bribes from fraudulent call centers and laundered the proceeds.
A vote on Ruslan Kravchenko’s dismissal in the Verkhovna Rada is scheduled for September 15.
This was announced by Davyd Arakhamia, head of the “Servant of the People” parliamentary faction, on Telegram.
Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko stated that he is currently abroad on an official business trip.
The Anti-Corruption Center stated that Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko allegedly left Ukraine after signing the notice of suspicion against NABU Director Semen Kryvonos. The Anti-Corruption Center claims that this may have been done in exchange for permission to leave the country.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office have denied Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko’s statements regarding the alleged indictment of NABU Director Semen Kryvonos and offers of immunity.
NABU Director Semen Kryvonos does not believe there is a conflict between the Bureau and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), though on August 10 he reported illegal actions against NABU employees. According to him, detectives are being systematically monitored, and law enforcement officials are attempting to obtain information about the progress of investigations and planned investigative actions.
In Kryvonos’s case, the commission included international representatives: Karen Greenaway, Povilas Malakauskas, and Drago Kos, who is also a relative of European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.
The conditions for a new attack on NABU and the SAPO remain in place—Kryvonos.
NABU has published new audio recordings as part of the “Midas” investigation, which reveal a large-scale “kickback” scheme in the energy sector.
As a reminder, Galushchenko was ordered to post bail of 200 million hryvnias.
NABU Director Semen Kryvonos stated that pressure is being exerted on the judges hearing the case of NABU detective Ruslan Magamedrasulov.
