"We have a normal, constructive relationship with Syrsky," said Fedorov

Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov described his collaboration with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi as constructive and productive

Despite some disagreements during discussions on certain issues, both leaders are working as a unified team toward the nation’s victory

The head of the Defense Ministry noted that the specific nature of leadership during a full-scale war requires firm decision-making. Differences in views on specific processes are a normal part of effective military management.

However, any disagreements are resolved exclusively behind closed doors, not in the public arena.

“We have a fairly normal, constructive relationship. He is the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army, which is fighting for independence; there can be no other kind of relationship. We’re on the same team—Team Ukraine, the President’s team. Of course, we have different views on certain issues, and we may have heated discussions about one decision or another,” Fedorov noted.

The minister also emphasized that the unity of the top military and political leadership is a strategic issue of national security.

Speculation in the media about possible disagreements only plays into the enemy’s hands, so agency heads will not allow this issue to be manipulated. Concrete results of our joint efforts demonstrate coordinated action at all levels of defense.

Fedorov made these remarks during a national television broadcast.
