In Netishyn, a truck crashed into a public bus
On August 4, a traffic accident involving a truck and a public bus occurred in Netishyn, Khmelnytskyi Oblast. Four people were injured in the collision. Preliminary reports indicate that the accident was caused by damage to one of the truck’s tires.
In the city of Netishyn, Khmelnytskyi Oblast, four people were injured when a truck collided with a public bus. Two of them were hospitalized, while the other two received medical attention at the scene.
The accident occurred on August 3 at approximately 5:45 p.m. on Solovievska Street. According to the investigation, a 56-year-old resident of Khmelnytskyi, who was driving a Scania R450 truck, lost control of the vehicle due to a tire failure, veered into the oncoming lane, and collided with a “Netishyn–Ostroh” route bus driven by a 39-year-old resident of Ostroh.
Four bus passengers were injured in the accident. All were taken to the hospital, where, following an examination, two men aged 49 and 54 were admitted. The other two victims received medical care without being hospitalized.
Investigators have opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic safety rules resulting in bodily injury to the victims). The penalty under this article provides for up to three years of restricted liberty, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for the same period.

As a reminder, in Pryluky, Chernihiv Oblast, a police officer struck a woman and her 6-year-old daughter at a crosswalk. The child died from her injuries, and the mother was hospitalized.
The prosecutor’s office is preparing to appeal the pretrial measure imposed on the police officer who, while driving a police vehicle, struck and killed a 6-year-old girl in Pryluky on December 10.
