There are 47,000 people remaining in the Sloviansk community — MBA
The Sloviansk community in Donetsk Oblast is currently home to about 47,000 people, while evacuations continue on a weekly basis.
This was reported by Vadym Lyakh, head of the Sloviansk City Military Administration.
According to him, up to a thousand residents leave the community every week, mostly families with children. The evacuations are taking place due to constant shelling and high levels of danger.
Russian troops attack Sloviansk and surrounding settlements daily, using various types of weaponry.
Despite this, critical infrastructure continues to function in the community: electricity, water, and gas supplies are secured. Utility workers are even operating in areas near the front line.
At the same time, water supply facilities are now located just 5–7 kilometers from the combat zone.
Since the start of the full-scale war, 81 people have been killed in the community, including four children. A total of 402 residents have been injured.
In April 2026, 22 people were injured and one person was killed as a result of shelling.
In some areas, the forced evacuation of children along with their parents continues. Currently, 29 children remain in these zones, although there were previously 96.
