The court set a deadline for Tymoshenko to review the case files

An investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court has set a deadline for Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the Batkivshchyna faction, to review the case materials.

This was reported by the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office. Although the prosecution insisted on a deadline of May 6 due to delays by the defense, the court set the final deadline as May 24, 2026, inclusive.

According to the SAP, the pre-trial investigation in the case was completed on April 7, after which the lawyers and the suspect were granted access to the collected evidence. However, the prosecutor’s office emphasized that the MP never appeared to review the materials. Once the court-set deadline expires, the defense will be deemed to have exercised its right to access the investigation, allowing the indictment to be submitted to the court.

The agency does not name the suspect, but the details of the case and the status of the faction leader point specifically to Yulia Tymoshenko. This procedural step is standard practice in cases where the investigation sees signs of the suspects delaying the proceedings. Further consideration of the case will take place in the High Anti-Corruption Court, which continues to work on anti-corruption cases despite the challenges posed by Russia’s aggression.

The NABU and the SAPO have completed their investigation into the case involving an alleged bribe offer to members of parliament by Yulia Tymoshenko, leader of the BYuT, and have made the case materials available to the defense prior to the trial. The parliamentarian herself did not appear for the review.

As a reminder, the court lifted the seizure of some of Yulia Tymoshenko’s and her husband’s property.
