The Servant of the People party opposes the resignation of the interior minister over the terrorist attack in Kyiv
Davyd Arakhamia, head of the Servant of the People faction in the Verkhovna Rada, stated that parliament is not considering the issue of replacing the Minister of Internal Affairs.
Arakhamia wrote about this in a Telegram post.
“We see how certain members of parliament are trying to politicize the terrorist attack in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. Such attempts are completely unfounded. The leadership of the patrol police has resigned, those responsible have been brought to justice, no one is covering for anyone, and things are being called by their proper names. The Ministry of Internal Affairs responded promptly to the situation, drew conclusions, and initiated the necessary internal procedures. As of now, the issue of replacing the Minister of Internal Affairs is not being considered by the Verkhovna Rada,” the MP stated.
Despite Arakhamia’s statements, a draft resolution regarding the Minister of Internal Affairs has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada. Draft Resolution No. 15185 dated April 21, 2026, was submitted by People’s Deputies Yulia Yatsyk (independent), Serhiy Rudyk (the “For the Future” parliamentary group), and Mykola Halushko (the Servant of the People faction).
A draft resolution on summoning the head of the Patrol Police Department, Yevhen Zhukov, to a plenary session and dismissing him has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada.
Patrol Police Chief Zhukov submitted his resignation following the terrorist attack in Kyiv.
