The Solomyanskyi Court issued a statement regarding the scandal surrounding Ishunina

UA.NEWS 21 August 2026 18:44
The Solomyanskyi Court issued a statement regarding the scandal surrounding Ishunina

The Solomyanskyi District Court of Kyiv responded to a journalist’s inquiry regarding the situation surrounding Judge Larisa Ishunina and her husband, Konstantin Ishunin. However, instead of answering specific questions, the court stated that the requested information was not on record at the institution and was unknown to them.

The journalistic inquiry was received by the Solomyanskyi District Court of Kyiv on August 14. The editorial staff wanted to determine whether the court’s leadership was aware of the situation involving Judge Larisa Ishunina following media reports. The journalists also asked whether the court’s president, the chief of staff, or other responsible officials had responded to the situation. Separately, they requested information on whether the court planned to take any measures in light of the public outcry.

In other words, the questions were quite specific. They did not concern an assessment of the judge’s actions, but rather whether the court’s leadership was aware of the situation and whether there had been any response to it. However, the journalists did not receive a direct answer to these questions.

The Court’s Response

The Solomyanskyi District Court cited the Law of Ukraine “On Access to Public Information.” The document explains that public information is information that has already been created or obtained by a government agency and recorded on a specific medium. The court further stated:

“The Solomyanskyi District Court of Kyiv has not recorded the information you requested in any form or on any medium.”

At the end of its response, the court added another important statement:

“The requested information is unknown to the court as a state institution.”

Formally, the journalists received a response to their request. But in essence, the main questions remained unanswered. It is unclear from the document whether the court’s president is aware of the publications regarding Larisa Ishunina. It is also unknown whether this situation has been discussed within the court or whether the court plans to address it further.

Why the Questions Arose

The situation surrounding the judge became the subject of media attention following a series of reports. Journalists sought to obtain the perspective not only of Larisa Ishunina herself but also of the institution where she works. That is why the editorial staff submitted a request to the Solomyanskyi District Court. The question was simple: Is the court’s leadership aware of the public outcry surrounding one of its judges, and have any official actions been taken in response?

Instead, the court effectively stated that it had no such information on record. It is important to note that this refers specifically to the absence of documented information, not to an official refutation of the facts published in the media. This is a significant distinction. The court’s response does not imply that the information in the publications is false. Nor does it mean that the court’s leadership confirms the circumstances reported by journalists. In fact, the institution merely stated that the requested information is not on record with the court and is unknown to it as a state institution.

The judge’s position also remains unknown

Separately, journalists attempted to obtain Larisa Ishunina’s own position regarding the information that has become the subject of public discussion. At this time, her explanation is not included in the article. Therefore, it is premature to draw final conclusions regarding any accusations or allegations that have been circulating in the public sphere.

At the same time, the Solomyanskyi Court’s response leaves another question open—whether the court’s leadership will respond to the situation at all. So far, only one thing is clear from the document received: the court has not reported any specific official response to the scandal surrounding its judge. And this, in fact, was the main outcome of the journalistic inquiry. RBC-Ukraine reports this, citing the document received.

Journalist Volodymyr Bondarenko called on law enforcement to investigate the possible role of one of the employees of JSC “Aviation and Rocket-Technical Machinery Building Company” Konstantin Ishunin in the case of the tragedy in Vyshneve, where an ammunition depot detonated on July 6 following a Russian missile strike.
