Russian troops attacked Konotop in the Sumy region with strike drones. According to Mayor Artem Semenikhin, this time the Russians used “Shahed” drones. As a result of the attack, an energy facility in the city was destroyed. Because of this, several thousand residents of Konotop were left without electricity and gas.
The Russian strikes also damaged dozens of homes. One of them sustained significant damage. In addition to residential buildings, garages and outbuildings were damaged; in particular, several sheds were destroyed. “As of now, there are no casualties or injuries. One man is experiencing an acute stress reaction. However, several animals have been seriously injured,” Semenikhin reported. Thus, according to preliminary information, there were no civilian deaths or injuries as a result of the attack. Meanwhile, local authorities continue to assess the extent of the damage.
Homes in the city have been damaged
The most damage was recorded in residential areas. Windows may have been blown out and structural damage caused in buildings due to the blast wave. In addition to residential buildings, the strike also affected farm structures. The mayor reported that sheds and garages had been destroyed. Semenikhin also drew attention to the condition of animals. According to him, several pets were seriously injured as a result of the attack.
Konotop was left without electricity and gas
The destruction of an energy facility disrupted the city’s utility networks. As of the time of this report, several thousand people remained without electricity and gas. Experts must assess the damage and determine what is needed to restore service.
