In Vinnytsia, a man opened fire on a taxi

In Vinnytsia, law enforcement officers detained a 26-year-old local resident suspected of firing shots at a taxi. According to preliminary reports, the man fired several shots at the vehicle with a non-lethal pistol out of hooliganism.

The incident occurred on July 7. A 27-year-old driver of a Ford taxi contacted the police and reported that he heard gunshots while driving with passengers. 

After pulling over, he discovered damage to the car’s rear window. Fortunately, no one was injured.

During the investigation, police identified the shooter and detained him. According to the investigation, the man fired several shots at the car with a non-lethal pistol.

Law enforcement officers seized the weapon used in the crime—a FORT-17R rubber bullet launcher.

The suspect has already been notified of the charges against him. The criminal case is being investigated under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism).

If found guilty, the man faces three to seven years in prison. The pretrial investigation is ongoing.

Earlier in the Lviv region, law enforcement officers quickly located and detained a man who opened fire in the regional capital and threatened a passerby with a weapon. 

In the village of Letychiv, Khmelnytskyi Oblast, law enforcement officers detained a 31-year-old local resident who opened fire with an automatic weapon near the territorial recruitment and social support center.
