In Zaporizhzhia, a soldier was sentenced to 11 years for killing a neighbor following a domestic dispute
The Zavodskyi District Court of Zaporizhzhia sentenced a serviceman to 11 years in prison for deserting his post twice and, following his most recent desertion, murdering a roommate.
According to the State Bureau of Investigation, the man was serving in the Zaporizhzhia sector. In June and December 2024, he left his military unit without permission. After his second escape, a conflict arose between him and his neighbor, during which the soldier inflicted fatal injuries on the victim.
The defendant did not admit guilt, but the court found the evidence gathered by the investigation sufficient for a guilty verdict. The decision has already taken legal effect.
