The Economic Partnership Agreement between Ukraine and the UAE has entered into force

On July 1, 2026, the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the governments of Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) entered into force.

The document was signed on February 17, 2025, in Abu Dhabi, and on February 26, 2026, it was ratified by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine through Law No. 4802-IX.

The State Customs Service notes that the agreement establishes a modern legal framework for the development of bilateral trade in goods and services and provides for the creation of a free trade area between Ukraine and the UAE through the elimination of customs duties.

Ukrainian producers are expected to gain preferential access to the United Arab Emirates market, which will help expand the geographic reach of Ukrainian exports and strengthen trade and economic ties between the two countries.

In addition, the agreement provides for deeper cooperation between the customs administrations of Ukraine and the UAE. In particular, the parties intend to conclude an Agreement on Mutual Customs Assistance, which will serve as the basis for the exchange of information, as well as for the prevention, detection, and investigation of violations of customs legislation.

This was reported by the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
