Ukraine is stepping up its diplomatic presence in Latin America and preparing new initiatives
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy heard a report from Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga on the implementation of special missions in Latin American countries.
This was reported in a post by the head of state.
Following the visit, the Foreign Minister held talks with Chilean leadership and representatives of more than ten other countries in the region. The main goal of the mission is to strengthen Ukraine’s position on international platforms and expand Ukraine’s network of diplomatic missions in this part of the world.
In addition to the Latin American focus, the minister reported on the results of communications with key European partners regarding security and political issues. The parties discussed preparations for a series of diplomatic events to be held in Ukraine in the coming weeks. Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of maintaining a high level of global attention on protecting our state from Russian aggression.
The report devoted special attention to coordinating efforts with partners to ensure a stable supply of aid and the implementation of joint security initiatives. The President emphasized that intensifying efforts in Latin America is part of a strategy to seek new allies and counter Russian influence in the region. The Foreign Ministry continues to work on strengthening the international coalition in support of Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga stated that rising energy prices due to the war in Iran increase the risk of further Russian aggression in Europe. To minimize this impact, pressure on Russia must not be reduced but, on the contrary, intensified.
Sybiga officially opened the country’s embassy in the Republic of Panama. The opening of the diplomatic mission is intended to strengthen cooperation between Ukraine and Panama in the political, economic, and cultural spheres.
