Ukraine will receive CVR(T) armored vehicles from Latvia

Ukraine will receive a new batch of British CVR(T) armored vehicles from Latvia to equip a battalion-level unit.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense.

The transfer of equipment has already begun. The agreement was announced during a meeting between Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and Latvian Defense Minister Andris Spruds.

The CVR(T) is a family of British-made light tracked armored vehicles, whose main advantage is high maneuverability. Thanks to its lightweight hull and wide tracks, the vehicle moves effectively even in difficult conditions—sand, mud, or snow.

The family includes various modifications: reconnaissance vehicles, armored personnel carriers, command vehicles, medical vehicles, and repair and recovery variants. All are built on a common platform, which simplifies maintenance and crew training.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are already using certain models of this equipment, including the Spartan, Scimitar, and Samaritan.

The Ministry of Defense notes that the new batch of armored vehicles will enhance the mobility and capabilities of Ukrainian units in combat conditions.

Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs confirmed that the drone that flew in from Russian territory and crashed in Latvia belonged to Ukraine.

Earlier reports indicated that Latvia had detected a violation of its airspace by a foreign drone, which, according to preliminary data, had flown in from Russian territory.
