Ukraine has received nearly 4,500 pieces of power generation equipment
Since the beginning of 2026, international partners have already provided Ukraine with 4,466 units of power generation equipment. This includes generators, transformers, boiler rooms, cogeneration units, and other equipment that helps maintain the power grid and prepare for the new heating season.
Since the beginning of 2026, Ukraine has received 4,466 units of power equipment from international partners and organizations, according to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine. Generators, transformers, modular boiler houses, cogeneration units, and boilers have already arrived in the country. This equipment is being used to restore damaged energy facilities, ensure backup power, and prepare for the fall and winter months.
Partners from 29 countries around the world have provided assistance to Ukraine. Among them are the United States, Germany, Japan, France, the United Kingdom, and other nations. International organizations, including UNICEF/WASH, PFRU, and VOLVO, have also joined in providing support. The Ministry of Energy noted that deliveries are ongoing. In the near future, Ukraine expects to receive another 882 generators, 165 transformers, and 157 units of other equipment, including boilers, modular boiler houses, and cogeneration units.
The equipment arriving in Ukraine is gradually being distributed among the regions. Since the beginning of the year, 490 shipments totaling over 4,400 metric tons have already been dispatched from the warehouses of the humanitarian energy hub. During this time, the regions have received 2,527 generators, 97 transformers, and another 162 units of other equipment—modular boiler plants, cogeneration units, and boilers.
The Ministry of Energy emphasizes that international aid remains one of the key areas of support for the Ukrainian power grid. It allows for the faster replacement of damaged equipment following Russian attacks and ensures the operation of critical infrastructure. At the same time, Ukraine continues to prepare for the new heating season. Earlier, the government approved a mechanism for allocating 40 billion hryvnias to prepare for winter.
The Ministry of Energy also reported that it plans to restore 6.2 GW of damaged generating capacity by the start of the 2026–2027 heating season. Of this, approximately 4 GW is already undergoing repairs. In addition, the government approved procedures for establishing a national reserve of autonomous power generation in case of new attacks on energy infrastructure and potential blackouts. The capacity being put up for tender for the construction of new generation facilities has also been increased—from 1,322 to 1,505 MW.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal previously stated that Ukraine’s strategic goal is to restore 54 GW of generating capacity by 2035 — the level the country had prior to the start of Russian aggression in 2014. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine is working on new mechanisms to insure port logistics and agricultural products against war risks.
