Ukraine has denied Moscow's claims that attacks are being planned from Latvian territory — Foreign Ministry
Ukraine has officially denied Russian claims that it is allegedly preparing attacks on Russia from Latvian territory or through Latvian airspace.
This was announced by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Georgiy Tykhyi.
“There is not a shred of truth in Moscow’s latest batch of false claims accusing Ukraine of preparing attacks against Russia from Latvian territory. We officially refute them,” he stated.
According to Tykhyi, Ukraine does not use Latvian territory or airspace for operations against Russia and has no such intentions.
The Foreign Ministry emphasized that such statements are part of a Russian propaganda campaign aimed at destabilizing the situation in Latvia and the Baltic states.
The Ukrainian side also thanked Latvia for its support and critical stance toward Russian disinformation.
In Estonia, fighter jets shot down a drone that was likely a Ukrainian strike drone and had accidentally entered the country’s airspace. An air raid alert was declared in parts of Estonia following the incident.
After noon on May 19, the Estonian Armed Forces issued an air threat warning in the south of the country.
Earlier, the warning system in Romania was triggered by another Russian drone attack on Ukrainian port infrastructure on the Danube. It caused an increased threat near the Romanian border.
