Ukraine honors the memory of the children killed by Russian aggression

On June 4, Ukraine honors the memory of the children who lost their lives as a result of Russia’s armed aggression against our country. This day serves as a reminder of the terrible price the Ukrainian people continue to pay for their freedom.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russian troops have been striking peaceful Ukrainian cities and villages daily with missiles, aerial bombs, and drones, destroying residential buildings, schools, hospitals, and other civilian facilities.

Children are falling victim to Russian terror in their own homes, on playgrounds, during evacuations, and in places that should be safe for them. Each such tragedy leaves a deep wound in the heart of the country.

Behind every name of a child who has died lie shattered dreams, unfulfilled plans, and a life that was yet to come. This is the pain of parents, relatives, and all of Ukraine—a pain that cannot be measured or forgotten.

May the memory of all Ukrainian children whose lives were taken by Russian aggression live on. Their names will forever remain in Ukraine’s history as a symbol of the war’s innocent victims and a reminder of crimes that have no statute of limitations.

The United24 project highlighted this observance.

On June 4, Ukraine observes the Day of Remembrance for Children Who Died as a Result of the Russian Federation’s Armed Aggression Against Ukraine. This is one of the most painful dates on the Ukrainian calendar, as it is dedicated to the children whose lives were taken by the war.
