Ukraine is launching a military AI center

Ukraine has launched the Defense AI Center "A1"—a center designed to integrate artificial intelligence into warfare. Its mission is to help the army respond more quickly, gain a better view of the battlefield, and reduce casualties. The first areas of focus have already been identified. He announced this on Facebook.

Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov stated that the new center was established with the support of the British government. Its goal is to give Ukraine a technological advantage in warfare. This applies not only to the front lines but also to the economy and governance.

According to the minister, modern warfare is about the speed of decision-making. And it is artificial intelligence that is now becoming the tool that ensures this speed. “AI already provides an advantage on the battlefield today. Our focus is on practical solutions that actually work,” he noted.

One of the key areas is data processing. The center is creating systems that analyze battlefield information, predict enemy actions, and help the military make decisions faster. “We are developing systems that transform combat data into concrete insights,” Fedorov explained.

AI for drones and robotic systems is being developed separately. This involves technology capable of operating even without GPS and in conditions of electronic warfare. Such systems are planned to be integrated into a single network. “This will allow tasks to be carried out with minimal human involvement and save the lives of military personnel,” the minister added.

Another focus area is accelerating defense development. The center is launching special simulations where new technologies can be tested before they reach the battlefield. This is intended to reduce the time from concept to actual deployment.

AI is also planned for use within the military to streamline bureaucracy. This applies to procurement, finance, and personnel management.

According to Fedorov, the Defense AI Center “A1” is set to become a shared platform for the military, engineers, businesses, and international partners. “It will be a single hub that helps quickly turn ideas into real solutions for the front lines,” he concluded. The Ministry of Defense expects that such technologies will allow Ukraine not only to hold its ground but also to stay one step ahead of the enemy.

Additionally, Zelenskyy imposed sanctions against 121 Russian commanders and Russian Orthodox Church propagandists.

Russia is preparing to intensify hybrid attacks against the EU and NATO, according to the Center for Strategic and Political Studies.
