A new world record in the field of body art has been set in Drohobych. Twenty-eight-year-old Oleg Karpa has created a series of tattoos on his body that depict the human skeleton. In doing so, he has surpassed the previous record held by Canadian Rick Genest, better known as Zombie Boy.

This was reported by Lana Vetrova, head of the National Register of Records of Ukraine, on Facebook.

The record was in the works for several years. During this time, images of bones appeared on Oleg’s body, which together form a detailed anatomical model. The count was conducted together with a pathologist—it took about three hours.

According to the count, 230 bone-shaped tattoos were found on the man’s body. For comparison, Rick Genest had 139 such images. The doctor confirmed that the tattoos correspond to actual anatomy.

As the organizers explain, the record takes into account not only the major bones but also minor anatomical elements—specifically the sesamoid bones and the bones of the hands and feet, which are not usually included in simplified models.

Oleg left his face free of tattoos. He lives in a small town and, in his words, does not want to attract unnecessary attention in his daily life.

By profession, Oleg Karpa is a medical assistant in forensic medicine and works in a morgue. At the same time, he practices thanatopraxy and conducts training in this field.

Lana Vetrova noted that the achievement has already been recognized as a new world record.
